Making Mistakes in the Gluten Free World. And Living with Them. part 2

The realisation came crushing on us. I was half way into beating myself up for being a bad mom, when I realized Sofia only had 3 mouthfuls of the pizza, instinctively refusing to eat more. She did not show any immediate effects. I googled the recommendations of similar reactions from other moms around the world and some suggested vomiting or enzymes.

We did nothing of the sort. We called our pediatrician (thanks for always taking my calls by the way) who said we should observe her in the following hours. A small ingestion of gluten, once, should not be so critical. Sofia was fine. And I was recovering too…

I guess that what I would recommend from this experience is it to stay calm, call your pediatrician and know your child’s body, keeping a close look out for the familiar symptoms. And especially never let your guard and vigilance down.
